Jets and Rings in Images of Spinning Black Holes

Abstract We develop a “dual-cone” model for millimeter wavelength emission near spinning black hole. The consists of optically thin, luminous cones emission, centered on the spin axis, which are meant to represent jet walls. resulting image is dominated by thin ring. first consider effect hole’s and show that dominant displace ring perpendicular projection axis sky 2 a * sin i +  ( 3 stretchy="false">) . This lower order in * than changes shape size photon itself but undetectable without positional reference. then centerline can provide suitable reference: its location exactly independent if observer outside cone nearly inside cone. If astrophysical uncertainties be controlled, displacement large enough detectable future space very long baseline interferometry missions. Finally, we substructure dual-cone features total intensity not universal depend cone-opening angle.
